How I overcome tough times when life gets me down…

When life gets rough and rocky, it can be challenging to stay positive and keep your perspective. I find that keeping my perspective is very helpful and I do that by reading quotes on tough times.

The truth is… tough times never last, but they sure do suck! Keep in mind what really matters!

While keeping that in mind… remember the 4 tips below when you are in the midst of challenging time.

 

  1. Create space for clarity

Remember all is not lost, life is and will always be full of possibilities, your only job is to stay open and available to them. No ruminating allowed. The past can’t be changed. You energy is best served in the present. This is proper success mindset.

  1. Seek help

Do not try to go at this alone. Look to friends and family for much needed support whether emotional, financial or spiritual. Look to you clergy, mentors, and experts. If you feel like you need counseling or therapy, go. Maybe a support group, try it. Start today to make better decisions for your mental and emotional health. Seek out that help, if necessary and only keep the help if its of benefit.

  1. Get Tough

You must muster your inner warrior!  You got work to do. There is a crisis that requires you to act. You need to be resilient and show up. Hiding won’t make it go away. Develop the good habit now of working through your problems instead of avoiding them.

You must muster your inner compassion as well! You need sound, rational advice. The kind of advice you give to a friend. What would you say to a friend or loved one going through a similar situation? . Now, say that… to yourself! We seem to be much harder and meaner to ourselves than t others, now is not the time for that.

You need to be kind to yourself. No more blaming or fault finding. That is wasted energy and your inner warrior needs that energy for action. Let your inner compassion kick in instead.

  1. Stay Present

Stay in the here and now , this is where the work is. This is where the lesson is and this is where victory will be found! You will find your happy in the sanctity of the present moment.

I use these 4 tips often and I find great comfort in them. That’s how I stay inspired during challenging moments. I remind myself that tough times never last!
